Question: William, congratulations on an incredible record! You hit a 100% score over the last 6 months AND pulled off 4 clean inspections during your employment with JoyRide Logistics LLC. What is your secret to staying that consistent on the road? Four clean inspections is a massive achievement. How do you approach your pre-trip and post-trip routines to make sure your rig is always 100% inspection-ready? Safety scores like yours don’t happen by accident. What daily habits or mindsets keep you focused on safety, even on long or tough hauls?

Answer: My secret to staying consistent on the road is I conduct pre and post trip inspection the same way all the time. I never change my routine, being consistent and thorough. Using Core values of Integrity, my joyride mission (as a driver), and excellence In all I do. Most importantly, “integrity” doing the right thing even when no one is looking. During the pre_post trip inspections, “always doing the right thing when no one is looking.”

Question: You’ve been with the JoyRide family for over a year now. Looking back on your time here, what has made this past year stand out for you?

Answer: What stands out in Joyride, is the whole team, is always willing to go the extra mile to make my daily assignments (blocks). True professionals at its best. From dispatch, safety, HR, payroll, and even my brother (royner), who is always there for me maintenance wise.

Question: What do you appreciate most about driving for JoyRide Logistics LLC compared to other places you’ve driven?

Answer: What’s best about Joyride. Compared to other companies I have driven for is Joyride truly treats me with respect and professionalism. Where, in other companies, a lot of times, you are treated just like a truck number.

Question: Every driver faces unpredictable weather, traffic, or tight deadlines. How do you manage stress and stay cool under pressure while keeping high standards?

Answer: Managing stress is probably, one of the hardest aspects of driving. Weather, traffic, load deadlines (deliveries/pickup), for me is to relax and stay calm as much as possible. There are so many unknowns, each and every day. I just take one day at a time, one mile at a time, and always keeping in mind, “Safe and legal.”

Question: If you could give one piece of advice to a new driver joining JoyRide tomorrow on how to maintain a clean record, what would it be?

Answer: My best advice is for them to figure out what works for them, keep with that plan, and always strive for being the best and always remember, safe and legal.

Question: What is one thing about life behind the wheel that you wish more people—either the public or office staff—understood better?

Answer: I wish that the general public out driving on these highways and streets would have a broader knowledge of what it’s like to drive semi. Understanding what we go through as a professional driver.
