JoyRide Welcomes New Director of Safety & HR: Amela Bektić Joins the Team

At JoyRide Logistics, safety is more than compliance—it’s a core value. That’s why we’re proud to announce the newest addition to our leadership team: Amela Bektić, who joins us as our new Director of Safety and Human Resources.

With over five years of experience leading safety initiatives at Mail Management Services, Inc., Amela brings a powerful blend of field knowledge, regulatory expertise, and a deep passion for building safe, high-performance environments. Her approach to safety is proactive, data-driven, and people-centered—qualities that align perfectly with JoyRide’s vision for the future.

“Safe behavior is the responsibility of every employee,” Amela says. “My mission is to ensure our drivers return home safely every day, while also helping JoyRide stay ahead of regulatory standards and industry best practices.”

Why Amela?

Amela was brought on board during a time of significant growth and increasing complexity within our operations. As JoyRide expands across the U.S., ensuring safety and compliance across terminals and trucks is more important than ever. Her experience in OSHA and DOT compliance, accident root cause analysis, and corrective action planning gives us confidence that we’re in the best hands possible.

Her Impact Already Shows

Amela wasted no time making her mark. Within her first month, she conducted comprehensive safety training sessions with all JoyRide drivers, launching her “Trucking Safety 101” program—an engaging presentation that covered key topics like:

  • FMCSA and DOT compliance
  • Roadside inspections and common violations
  • Pre- and post-trip protocols
  • Hours-of-Service rules
  • Injury prevention techniques
  • Common accident causes and how to avoid them

The training emphasized real-world safety scenarios, industry statistics, and the consequences of unsafe behavior—from fines to CDL suspension and even criminal liability. It was clear: this wasn’t just about regulations. It was about building a culture where drivers understand that safety equals opportunity.

The Road Ahead

With Amela leading our safety and HR initiatives, JoyRide is committed to continuous improvement—not just to meet the standards, but to set them. Her vision includes enhancing driver support systems, launching ongoing education programs, and implementing smarter tracking and inspection procedures.

We’re excited to have her on the team and confident that under her guidance, JoyRide will become an even safer, stronger place to work and thrive.
